No Jacket. written in french, beautiful binding of marbled boards and blue cloth with gilt letting on spine marred by a pencil head size nick on pencil on spine ( possibly can be repaired) o.w. fine with pages browning and former owner's book plate inside cover. taped on ffep is what appears to be a newspaper photo clipping (2" x 4") of a very elegant woman in a theatrical pose with the caption Mrs. Maurice Maeterlinck. In small script (on the clipping) is (Louise le Blance) and underneath the clipping ( not on the clipping) is "Took the role of Monna Vanna on the first performance" The photo in the clipping is by Reutlinger. Above the clipping is a signature in script which is hard to makeout it looks like the last name could be the author's but the signature does not look like others of his on the internet but the positioning on the signature implies it is related some way to the clipping. Not sure if this is the first edition but could be.
