First title page printed in red and black, woodcut vignettes to both title pages. Old (contemporary?) vellum, inked titles on spine. Vellum heavily rubbed and soiled, insect damage to endpapers, ownership inscriptions on title page (lined out), approximately 50 mm tear from top of title page, top and bottom margins closely trimmed, touching text on title page, scattered dampstaining and foxing. RARITY: This book is rare. USTC lists 17 extant copies of the first edition in the world's libraries. There are no known copies in U.S. libraries. This book has appeared at auction six times in the last century (RBH).
