Nommé directeur de la Station séricole de l'Ecole d'agriculture de Montpellier en 1873, il donne des conférences aux éducateurs de vers à soie, fait paraître des articles sur la sériculture et fait traduire en français ou rééditer des ouvrages séricoles.
