(11,5 x 19), IV-77 p., tirage à 100 exemplaires sur bon papier vergé, plan dépl. in-fine (37 x 18,5), vignette de titre sur le plat sup., couverture un peu fanée, intérieur frais, envoi de J. du Teil au ministre Edmond Gressier son oncle, bon état. La bataille de Dettingen oppose le 27 juin 1743, pendant la guerre de Succession d'Autriche, l'armée française du maréchal de Noailles à une armée anglo-hanovrienne commandée par George II, qui remporte une victoire inattendue. Ce récit de la bataille est tiré d'un Carnet du Chevalier de Malbez auquel il confia les détails de sa vie, du 22 septembre 1742 au 11 décembre 1747, et dans laquel il donne des détails très précis et parfois inconnus; le plan reproduit en fin de volume est une fraction d'un plan conservé à la bibliothèque nationale et signé Liébaut (ce document est contemporain du manuscrit publié et le complète en donnant exactement l'état des force de l'armée du maréchal de Noailles). Dédicacé par l'auteur.
