Add to basketSoft cover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. EAST UTICA MACCHIATA D'AMORE BY MALIO J. CARDARELLI 2005 SIGNED SOFTCOVER. One of the things I love the most about our area of the Mohawk Valley is the rich Italian heritage (now fading a bit as we become more diverse as a country). I am not of Italian descent but had the good fortune to live in Italy for five years in the late 70's/early 80's. I still retain a good deal of Italian language skills, so I know that the title of this book: "East Utica- Macchiata d' Amore" means "tinted with love". I am pleased to offer a relatively scarce copy of this locally written soft cover book by Malio J. Cardarelli (who inscribed the book for its former owner). Condition: This large soft cover book is in very good condition. The front soft cover shows a minor erasure in the upper right-hand corner and there are the remains of a label on the rear cover. Inside, other than the Author's inscription, the pages and photos are clean and bright throughout. The binding is tight and sound and this book is not ex-library or a remainder. Many (illustrator). Add to basketPaperback. Condition: As New. Original covers, 8 1/2 x 11 inches, index, bibliography, 57 pp (single-sided). Illustrated with black and white and color photographs. Softcover, new: tight, clean, paper crisp, unmarked and never read. "The West Utica story takes the reader throughout that section of town west of Utica's main artery, Genesee Street. Recounting the earlier charm and nostalgia associated with the place that brings the reader back to its more glorious days, unearthing what was there more than a half century ago and in many cases what still remains today. Places of business, churches, schools, playgrounds, hospitals, theaters will be revisited, many times with photos of old. Most of all, the many cultures that existed there are explored, sometimes in detail. The foods and customs are included as are the many traditions and celebrations that even today highlight the finest each has to offer. And best of all, some of the experiences of those who grew up in West Utica are presented. Overall, the chronicle is meant not only to reignite memories but also to preserve the best of that part of town so many fondly, even lovingly, called home."
