Mild cracking to gutters, however binding remains firm. Mild thumb-marking present. Pencil inscription to half title page. Boards have light shelf-wear with corner bumping. Mild sunning to spine, which has mild crushing and wear to ends. Mild scratching and marking to boards. Book has forward lean. Boards are mildly warped.

Boards have moderate shelf wear with mild bumping and fraying to corners and crushing and fraying to spine ends. All surfaces tanned and sunned, particularly spine. Gilt lettering to spine is dulled but remains brighter on front. Boards are slightly bowed.

Contents clean and fresh. Both front and back endpapers have small corner stains from former sellotape which had been used to secure a plastic cover. The upside of this is that it has protected the blue cloth binding: the thin boards are slightly faded and faintly marked, and the corners have been knocked, and the spine blue has faded, and the spine ends are crimped.
