Add to basketNo Binding. Condition: Very Good. Colour printed paper map 88x106cm, labelled in the Cyrillic alphabet, compiled in 1982, prepared for publication and issued in 1984. Very good, loosely folded, lightly creased. Centred on Mecca, this covers the Middle East and North East Africa bounded by southern Greece (NW), Ashgabat (NE), the entire Arabian Peninsula and Persian Gulf (E), and Kisangani (SW). Two key diagrams locate each sheet, and demarcate administrative divisions. This was issued as part of the major Soviet global mapping programme during 1950-90 (the "Red Atlas"). Sheets comply with International Map of the World standards, with each quadrangle on a 1/1M identified by lettered bands and numbered zones. Sources are not named, but for the wider series included a mix of existing maps and guidebooks, the Zenit Satellite Programme from the 1960s, and "boots on the ground".
