Features the bookplate of Lieutenant-Colonel Edward Henry Cooper and a 1913 library reorganization label from his grandson, the soldier and politician Bryan Cooper. 18th century leather binding with raised bands have moderate rubbing, moderate to significant wear to corners, edges, crown, and heel, some splitting at tops and bottoms of joints. An important historical eye-witness account of Russian and Ukrainian history between 1727 and 1744. Manstein served in the Russian army in the Baltic, Siberia, and the Crimea and was an eyewitness to most of the incidents he relates here. Contents lightly toned with intermittent spotting, some folding maps with minor repaired tears and reinforced folds; minor rubbing to spine and corners. Very Good.
