Interweaved with these are a series of articles which illuminate Edmund White's response to the political dimensions of homosexual life, a response that centres on the importance of friendship when AIDS enters the scene. Edmund Valentine White III (b.1940), is a gay American novelist, memoirist, playwright, biographer and an essayist on literary and social topics. Page block clean. Internally also near fine with no inscriptions or annotations. No creases or tears. No foxing to the interior pages. Pages clean and bright. Black endpapers. No reading lean to the binding which is straight. Spine tight. ***In a near fine black and white illustrated dustwrapper, which retains the original publisher's printed price of £60.00 net. The dustwrapper has folding top and bottom edge flaps to prevent any edge tears or chipping. Extremities of dustwrapper just slightly rubbed and creased, but with no chips or tears.
