At dawn a peaceful freighter is torpedoed without warning and the survivors mercilessly hunted down by the unknown submarine. In a few hours only sixteen men remain, adrift in small lifeboats. This was the author's first (and, I believe, only book). Marc Rivette also wrote articles about music and book reviews. But the background for this novel was authentic -- based on experience gained through his several years of service with the Merchant Marine during World War II and the Korean conflict. BINDING/CONDITION: green cloth with vignette in black; silver spine text; the top edge tint is green; a Very Good+ book, with a Good dust jacket; publisher's price on the jacket flap is intact. 8vo (8.5 inches tall). 313 pages.
