An ex-library copy but with only a single stamp to the verso of the title page and the trace of a bookplate to the front free endpaper, the body of the text is clean and unmarked & the binding remains tight. Illustrated in b&w & including one folding plate.

Red buckram binding. An excellent copy. (With a small ink check to title page, where one hand did not notice what the other was doing.) We obtained this book directly from the publisher over fifty years ago, it has never been privately owned. Author was a Roman architect and military engineer. Illustrator Goujon was 16th century.(cfm) .
