En este volumen de Textos para la Historia del Español, el lector interesado encontrará una selección de documentos pertenecientes al Corpus de Documentación Medieval del Sur de Ávila (CODOMSA), transcrito y editado por miembros del Grupo de Estudio de Documentación Histórica y Textos An…tiguos de la Universidad de Salamanca (GEDHYTAS). Se trata de un interesante corpus de documentos del siglo XV conservados en el Archivo Municipal de Mombeltrán y en el Archivo Histórico de la Casa Ducal de Alburquerque, sito en Cuéllar, y que hacen referencia a la villa de Mombeltrán y a otra serie de localidades próximas ubicadas al sur de la actual provincia de Ávila. Debido a su posición geográfica, en los documentos conviven rasgos propios del castellano norteño con otros fenómenos característicos de las variedades meridionales de la Península y que de forma tímida empiezan a manifestarse en estos textos, como es el caso de la aspiración y pérdida de la /-s/ final de palabra. La edición de los documentos, que incluye, junto con la transcripción paleográfica y la edición crítica, siguiendo las normas de la Red CHARTA, la reproducción facsimilar de los textos, viene precedida por una breve introducción histórica sobre el señorío de Mombeltrán a finales de la Edad Media y un estudio lingüístico que aborda los aspectos gráficos, fonéticos, morfosintácticos y léxico-semánticos más destacados. El español moderno es, en cierto modo, producto de los cambios lingüísticos originados en el siglo XVI. La centralidad de la capital, el crecimiento económico y la alta producción documental que se desarrolló con el paso del tiempo dieron lugar a la extensión de estas innovaciones. El monasterio de El Escorial tuvo un papel muy importante en esta difusión debido a la gran elaboración de documentos desde su fundación. Se ha realizado un estudio diplomático, paleográfico y lingüístico para diferenciar las particularidades de la lengua en el periodo abarcado. Los datos se han contrastado con los localizados en distintos corpus y atlas; de este modo, se perciben las similitudes entre el habla de Madrid y la de El Escorial, así como su evolución. *** Nota: Los envíos a España peninsular, Baleares y Canarias se realizan a través de mensajería urgente.
