This copy was presented to L Crane by Lady marling, the author's wife. There is a slight must…y odour. Preface has edges strengthened by tissue paper. Errata slip tipped in. The author had more than 30 years Army Service and took part in six campaigns, earning a VC in the Sudan in 1884. Boer War 1880-1881, Suakin Campaign 1884, Nile Campaign 1884-1885, South African War 1899-1900, 1900-1902, The Great War 1914-1918.
