Lee during the US Civil War. Marshall, who was teaching at the University of Indiana when the war broke out, immediately made his way to Virginia where he…joined the staff of Gen. Lee. With several plates bearing portraits of various Confederate notables, and a couple of maps, one of which folds out. --- Rebound in reinforced, blue buckram binding for the Denver Public Library, with white spine titling. --- Evidence of former ownership by the library consists of pocket removal evidence, frequent rubberstampings, serial number to spine and stenciled 'DPL' to textblock top edge.; Ex-Library; Octavo - 8 to 9 in. tall; xxix, [4], 4-287 pages.
