José Medina Echavarría (Castellón de la Plana, 25 de diciembre de 1903 - Santiago de Chile, 13 de noviembre del 1977) fue un sociólogo y autor español que se exilió en México durante la Guerra Civil española. Permaneció en México desde 1939 y hasta 1946 y durante ese tiempo contribuyó a la divulgación de las teorías sociológicas alemanas, fue docente en la UNAM, colaborador en múltiples publicaciones y fue el primer pensador del exilio español que se incorporó a El Colegio de México, donde dirigió su revista Jornadas entre 1943 y 1945.
