Over half the gilt on the front cover and about all the gilt on the spine worn off, but title still legible due to embossing. Front cover illustrated pastedown rather minor amount of surface wear. Covers also a few incidental spatters. Textblock edges a few spots & tanned. Appx 16 photographic plates (printed both sides = 32 images) + maps, drawings, etc. throughout.
