Spine panel cloth modestly tanned and cover cloth tanning a bit toward edges, an oval of yellowish staining on lower front cover, extremities slightly rubbed. Firm binding. Though not identified as such, this copy was part of the folklorist Samuel Preston Bayard and retains what are likely his notations in pencil inside the front cover referencing Baring-Gould and Sharp and transcribing a tune, interior otherwise unmarked. xxxix,629 pp. Scarce first ptg. (Oct. 1934) of this pioneering and highly influential anthology. Size: 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. Book.
