Hardcover. Condition: Good. 1st Edition. Volume 1 only; rebound in contemporary red cloth hardcover boards with gilt lettering. Text in English and Latin. Binding complete; pages dusty with light age toning. Less common. In 1842, William Maskell (1814?-1890) was instituted to the rectory of Corscombe, Dorset, and devoted himself to learned researches into the history of Anglican ritual and cognate matters. His 'Monumenta Ritualia Ecclesiae Anglicanae and other early works at once placed Maskell in the front rank of English ecclesiastical antiquaries of his time.

Harvey, Truro, Janry 1849" and "Sydney Cooper Truro 1920" on front endpaper. Clean tight text but covers sunned and worn. Title label heavily browned.
