Compiuti gli studi giuridici a Roma, nel 1829 divenne Gonfaloniere della Comunità di Capannori. Aderì l'anno successivo ai moti patriottici che scuotevano l'Europa, ascrivendosi alla cosiddetta "Compagnia liberale". Fu tra i fondatori della Cassa di Risparmio di Lucca, di cui fu il primo Vicepresidente, quindi Vicario al Giudice Ordinario e Presidente del Tribunale di Commercio, e collaborò ai fogli "L'Impavido" e "L'Eco". Nel '59 fu eletto deputato all'Assemblea toscana e dall'anno successivo sedette al Parlamento nazionale. Morì nel 1881. 50 gr.
