Paperback. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. First Edition. An uncommon sporting novel, an undated (circa 1920s/30s) paperback with some truly eye catching cover art. 72pp are crisp and bright but the type is small. Hilariously, the inside cover ad is a remedy for *weak eyes*! There are no names or soil, but a few ph neutral adhesive repairs in a couple margin areas. Cover spine ends chipped, rear cover cut 1/4" short of rest of magazine and head of rear cover and following page are irregularly abraded for the top inch. Can't tell if cover has bleed from another volume or is supposed to look like it does, there is some random pink under the horse's belly and neck. Book tips are brushed, spine ends bumped & chipped spine paper title remains legible. Digest sized paperback 'Popular Racing Novels' mystery story featuring race horses. Cover illustration shows a groom at the head of a ridden race horse while the posh-suited owner looks on. Chestnut horse's ears are pinned and his off hind is up and waving. $20 bucks sez its a mare! Behind the groom stands what looks like the trainer, with his brown fedora on top and what looks like a decidedly shapely (uncovered) leg. Weird!
