H 52 suss., cc. 27v- 36r), un bel codice miscellaneo del sec. XV, redatto in scrittura umanistica assai chiara ed elegante. Si tratta di un piccolo trattato di pedagogia e di filosofia morale, focalizzato sugli anni dell'adolescenza, giustamente ritenuti dall'autore fondamentali per la formazione integrale dell'uomo, e quindi di grande importanza anche per il bene della società, dello stato, e dell'intero genere umano. Il suo insegnamento è tratto dalle opere dei massimi esponenti della filosofia classica, nonché dai precetti della morale cristiana. Dopo aver passato in rassegna le varie età dell'uomo, l'autore precisa che l'inesorabile trascorrere del tempo, con l'invecchiamento e la decadenza che esso comporta, non riguarda soltanto la vita umana, ma si estende anche alla storia del mondo. Il tempo dunque è un bene prezioso che i ragazzi devono impiegare bene.

Rilegato. Condition: ottimo. Manoscritto di fine '700, vergato in lingua francese (142X98 mm.), di pp. (16), con molte bianche in fine. Primo capolettera miniato in rosso e nero, capoversi rubricati in nero con stile imitativo di caratteri incunaboli. Carattere corsivo di piccolo modulo. Raffinata legatura in pieno marocchino rosso foncé, piatti incorniciati da filetti e ricco merletto in oro, dorso a 4 nervi con scomparti decorati in oro ai piccoli ferri, titolo inciso in oro in senso longitudinale, tagli in oro. Ottimo esemplare. L'impianto di questi versi proviene dai "Lamenta", esametri spesso ricordati per la loro estrema virulenza misoginica scritti dal chierico trecentesco bolognese Matheolus (detto "il bigamo"), che oggi sono conservati in un unico testimone latino presso la Biblioteca Universitaria di Utrecht. Questi suoi versi vennero in seguito voltati in francese da Jean Le Fèvre de Resson, il quale vi inserì un suo lavoro, "Le Livre de Leesca" (traducibile gorsso modo come "Il Libro delle gioie femminili"). Di lì in poi le le opere del Matheolus e le interpolazioni del suo non fedelissimo traduttore Le Fèvre sopravvissero come unica lezione. In stampa, con sensibili cambiamenti, abbiamo traccia di questi versi nei "Notables dictes des philosophes à l'obprobe des femmes vicieuses et à l'honneur des bonnes", opuscoletto impresso a Lyon da Balsarin nel 1502. Una recente edizione critica dei Lamenta è stata fatta da Tiziano Pacchiarotti ("Le Lamentations de Matheolus /Jean Le Fèvre de Resson", Alessandria, 2010).
