Esta rara obra esta inscrita en la bibliografía emanada sobre la polémica suscitada desde el siglo XVI sobre la venida o no a España del Apóstol Santiago. Este largo y feroz debate que transcurrió a lo largo de de casi cuatro siglos entre los defensores de la tesis santiagista y sus detractores se originó cuando la Iglesia Compostelana exigió un diezmo al resto de las iglesias españolas por el privilegio que según ellos les había otorgado el rey D. Ramiro en acción de gracias de la intervención providencial del apóstol Santiago en la victoria contra los musulmanes en la batalla de Clavijo. Este supuesto privilegio otorgaba el poder recaudatorio a todo territorio nuevamene cristianizado. De hecho suponía que hasta las tierras evangelizadas en América tributasen por ello. La polémica quedó servida y las iglesias de Toledo, Sevilla entre otras se sumaron pronto a la oposición de dicho privilegio. La linea de impugnación se basó en la falsedad documental del privilegio real y en los derechos inmemoriales de la iglesia primada de Toledo y los de la de Sevilla. El autor de este libro intenta rebatir a los impugnadores de Santiago y en concreto a fray Miguel de Santa María. Curiosamente esta obra esta precedida de otra sobre la historia de Vizcaya, Alava y Guipuzcoa ecrita por Landaburu, Irisarri y Zubiegui que cantan las excelencias vascongadas. El propósito de ello era contar con el favor de los poderosos vascos de Sevilla quienes alegaron desde el principio del debate en sus Juntas ser ajenos al voto del rey Ramiro ya que la Vasconia nunca fue conquistada por los musulmanes. Primera edición practicamente desconocida sin ejemplar recogido en el Catálogo de Patrimonio Bibliográfico español. Puntos de óxido en el interior.
