Schöner blauer handgebundener kleinformatiger Maroquinllederband der Zeit mit goldgeprägten Stehkanten, goldgeprägtem dreifachem Linienrahmen auf den Deckeln, ornamental goldgeprägtem Rücken, marmorierten Vorsatzpapieren und Spiegeln mit ornamental goldgeprägten Deckelinnenkanten sowie dreiseitigem Goldschnitt. Eins von 200 nichtnumerierten Exemplaren auf "papier de Hollande" (gesamt 206). Mercier (1763-1800) war Buchhändler und äußerst fruchtbarer Schriftsteller, der als Revolutionär aristokratische Bibliotheken plünderte und verkaufte. Die Goldprägung oben am Rücken gering berieben und das Leder unten mit kleiner Fehlstelle in der blauen Oberfläche, sonst jedoch insgesamt gut erhaltenes Exemplar mit nur leichten Gebrauchsspuren.
