Omdat zij ondanks alles nog veel ongelijkheid ziet, neemt zij in haar brieven soms standpunten in die voor haar moeder al te radicaal zijn. Op haar beurt laat Marita haar dochter zien hoe vrouwen vroeger voor hun gelijkwaardigheid zijn opgekomen.
