Anti Uncle Tom fiction, the book criticizes antislavery sentiment in Britain, arguing that slavery there had simply been replaced with child labor. It is not quite clear who the author is. Matthew Estes is noted as the author of a book published in 1856 by "A Lady of New Orleans", with a different subtitle. Grace Greenwood (ps. of Jane Scott Lippincott) is also said to have published a Tit for Tat book in the middle of the 1850s Cover has some edge wear at top and bottom of spine, title page has thin yellow strip of paper at extreme left, not affecting text, otherwise in good condition.
