This copy appears to have been gifted by the author to an acquaintance: flyleaf reads "G. [Gertrude] Middleton from Arthur (1937)?" in Middleton's hand. The text bears Middleton's annotations in the text and her own personalized index on the rear endpages, showing that she had some outside knowledge of Mathison's life. A very good copy, lacking the dust jacket. Uncommon. 8 copies in OCLC. Unless otherwise noted, our first editions are first printings.
