The Club du Livre's mission, in the "Contemporary Engraving" collection, sought "to bring together, through original engraving and the artists who use it, some of the characteristic aspects of contemporary art" (n.b., from preface as translated by Google Lens). They continue: "If we like to give prints a decorative role in wall ornamentation, it seems, ultimately, that we experience a more refined pleasure in discovering them between the leaves of a book alongside the words that inspired them."
