Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. Oblong quarto 20.3 x 24.7 cm, plain unprinted wrappers,(iv),53 plates of photographs showing completed buildings and interiors, with two drawings. Max Brockert (1870-1962) was a flourishing young German architect working in Erfurt when he self-published this monograph of his built work to date. It bears a thick paper cover without printing, a three-page foreword by the architect and note of recommendation by His teacher Alfred Messel in Berlin. Brockert is considered an influential architect especially in the Jugendstil era, but this work appears to be the only monograph on him and reveals him to be a highly talented practitioner. No title page or original covers. Rare, with no copies found in worldcat.
