Precursor to the french edition of Naked Before The Mountain, Mazeaud's climbing autobiography. It is strange that this german edition preceded the 1st french edition by 3 years. The french edition was largely revised & rewritten. Author's native language is french but he learned german at a young age; however, this was translated by Bertel Zimmermann from a french proof.

Pierre Mazeaud est un empêcheur de politiser en rond. Ses adversaires, qui se risquent rarement à l'affronter dir…ectement, tant ils craignent ses reparties cinglantes et ses arguments affûtés, le décrivent volontiers comme un chahuteur de l'hémicycle. Histoire de minimiser la portée de propos souvent iconoclastes, mais presque toujours pertinents. Si ceux de ses collègues qui ne l'apprécient guère venaient à l'Assemblée nationale en dehors de la séance des questions d'actualité du mercredi après-midi, quand ils espèrent montrer leur tête aux électeurs de leur circonscription, ils connaîtraient pourtant un autre Mazeaud. Juriste de première force, législateur infatigable. Pierre Mazeaud dérange. Par goût. Héritier d'une prestigieuse lignée de professeurs de droit et de hauts magistrats, ne fut-il pas tenté par l'anarchisme ? Mais il a finalement choisi le gaullisme. Ce qui n'est pas un reniement de ses penchants adolescents. Pierre Mazeaud dit à haute voix des vérités que l'on ne proclame pas sans dommage au sein d'un microcosme conformiste à l'excès. Il a demandé la suppression du département. La disparition du Sénat ne lui ferait aucune peine. Il vitupère la décentralisation, qui détruit l'État et multiplie les occasions de corruptions. Contrairement à son parti, le RPR, il est partisan du scrutin proportionnel. Il milite même, en solitaire, pour qu'on revienne sur la réforme de 1962 instaurant l'élection du président de la République au suffrage universel. Indiscipliné mais fidèle, insupportable mais chaleureux, insolent mais libre, Pierre Mazeaud, parlementaire exemplaire, a beaucoup de choses à nous dire sur notre démocratie. La lecture de ce Rappel au règlement décapant mais roboratif, rappellera aux citoyens que nous sommes qu'on respire toujours mieux sur les sommets. Pas étonnant que cette leçon salutaire soit administrée par le premier Français à avoir atteint le sommet de L'Everest. Publié par France Empire en 1995 , broché avec une couverture souple en très bon état, format 24x15,5 cm , 196 pages. Dédicacé par l'auteur.
