The softcover book is unmarked and in Very Good++ or Near Fine, I'd say. The Author has Signed, Inscribed, and dated this First Edition/Printing. The Author, Robert B. McClure, led a most extraordinary life. A Canadian, he grew up in China, qualified as a physician and served his life as a missionary in China, Taiwan, Gaza, India and Borneo. He was threatened with imprisonment by the Canadian Prime Minister, parachuted into the jungle to save downed pilots and narrowly escaped summary execution by the Japanese. A very plain-spoken and forthright commentator, his views were among the most highly regarded in Canada in the 1960s and 1970s.
