Hardcover. Condition: Poor. Unpaginated scrapbook. 29 cm. Half black leather with brown cloth. Spine is missing and book is now separated into signatures or individual leaves. Tears and chips to page edges. Tissue guards remain, usually detached and torn. Handwritten poetry in French and English. B&w and colour illustrations of scenery, costumes, animals, religious subjects. Illustrations usually clipped from magazines or papers, but some look hand-drawn. Some captions in French and English. Probably the album of a British woman educated in French, perhaps traveling in France. First date Sept. 17, 1832.
