Detailed and humorous observations of the gold rush and early California. Book is Fine, rust red woven cloth with bright gilt titles to spine, map end papers of probably route on front paste down, California map on rear paste down, No previous owner bookplate or writing, high quality publication with better paper stock, rust red top stain is uniform and nice un trimmed foredge. Plain brown paper jacket is near Fine, previous owner brief gift inscription on inner flap else Fine, protected in a new mylar sleeve.
