Short stories about a young Mexican woman named "Rosario," whose real-life counterpart, per the author's introduction, was given "as a baby to a childless Mexican couple of the laboring class, while her fther was fighting in the revolution. She was brought by them into the United States, and 'learned the gospel,' as Mexicans phrase it, in Superior. She graduated from a mission school in Los Angeles, and as this is writen, is preparing herself in an institution of higher education for work among her own people."
