Johnson) stamped on title page. Mr. Johnson was a long time Research Associate at Harvard's Museum of Comparative Zoology, having started as a volunteer while still in high school. This book is a narrative set in 1940 that follows the trajectory of Roger Adams Morton, a young man from an elite banking family who, after a visit to his old economics professor, becomes convinced of a widespread but unorganized revolutionary sentiment in America, particularly in response to the growing influence of the moneyed class on politics. Spurred by his new understanding, Morton joins forces with his professor and a brilliant orator named Dan Holman to establish a new political party, the Revolutionist party, with the aim of challenging the two-party system and fighting the undue influence of money in politics. The book delves into themes of political corruption, economic inequality, the dangers of unchecked capitalism, and the potential for social change through organized resistance. It explores the strengths and weaknesses of the American political system, the role of idealism in politics, and the importance of individual agency in shaping the course of history. By examining the complexities of political power, the limits of traditional political parties, and the potential for revolutionary change, this book offers a nuanced perspective on the nature of American democracy and its capacity for renewal. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format.
