Hardcover. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. Special Edition. A good, functional copy with some flaws to note. The dustjacket is moderately shelf worn. Some minor archival tape reinforcement has been done. The cello tape which attached the dustjacket to the endpapers is now gone but has left a residue (see pic). The covers have an orange speckling which is common to the ARCO volumes (see pic). The textblock is lightly toned (yellowed). The front and back endpapers are lightly creased. (see pic) On the positive side the dustjacket spine has not faded (a common flaw), and the textblock appears to be in very good shape. No marks or notations have been seen, although not every page has been checked. Reinforcing has been laid on the front, interior hinge (see pic). It is not ex library.

Hardcover. Condition: Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. The spine and hinges have been replaced, with the old spine cover pasted onto the new one. The covers are in somewhat good shape with corner bumping/rubbing and shelf wear. There is also a bit of rippling on the front, outside edge, and a smudge on the rear cover. The cover leans to the right (see pic of top). The textblock is ordered, although the original owner has made many small, neat pen notations in the Dominion and USN sections (see the three textblock pix). This is not as intrusive as it is in most cases of this flaw. Advert page 3/4 is missing. This is the British edition.

Hardcover. Condition: Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. Perhaps the most uncommon of the wartime editions. This one has seen use with edge bumping, a front cover crease, minor creasing to the advert endpapers, and light soiling to the textblock edges (see pix). The hinges are secure but have a light shake. Some time ago (20+ years?) there were some renovations. The covers were shoe polished and there was some archival taping. Two signatures and a couple of minor tears just received archival tape. The textblock is bright and ordered without apparent notation. The book mark is present and attached albeit worn. Non-USA orders require a shipping quote. Please contact me before an order.
