Covers very good, marked to the back especially, and bumped with short tear to spine head. Interiors very good, stained to tips of several top corners and nicked to a couple of edges. Although Machu Picchu's discovery is associated with Hiram Bingham (1911), several western explorers are said to have reached there before him, including the author of this work, and his colleague Thomas Payne in 1906. Stuart McNairn (1867-1956) was a missionary and RGS Fellow, who lived in Peru during 1904-11. In addition to Machu Picchu, this unusual work touches on Urco where there was a Mission farm, Cuzco, Titicaca, and other locations. The photos show people, landscapes, buildings, artifacts etc. Rare with Worldcat and Library Hub locating 2 copies (OCLC 606295949).
