This scene was sketched by Gibbs, then redrawn by the artist Seth Eastman for inclusion in Henry Rowe Schoolcraft's Historical and Statistical Information Regarding the History, Conditions, and Prospects of the Indian Tribes of the United States [Philadelphia, Pennsylvania: J. B. Lippincott & Co., 1853]. First edition (first printing). Very good copy, with large margins, oblong format, 9.5 x 12.75 inches. Some foxing to margins.
