Inscribed by Mehler on the title page, and dated November 1937. Mehler was a German Jewish author best known for her children's books. This collection of poems was first published in 1937, just a few years before she was imprisoned by the Nazi government at Sobibor extermination camp and murdered in July 1943. Signed.
