as formulated and taught by Max Meldrum. Arranged and edited by Russell R. Foreman. Sydney : The Shepherd Press, 1950. Quarto, gilt-lettered cloth in illustrated dustjacket (edge worn with chips to head and foot of spine), light silver fishing to endpaper, pp. 79-80 neatly detached but present, tipped-in portrait frontispiece, pp. xvii; 298; extensively illustrated with colour and black and white plates, diagrams, a folding chart, and with the plastic viewing slides and folding chart in the pockets in rear endpaper, often lacking. Limited to 1000 copies (there was also a deluxe edition of 100 signed copies bound in leather). The very rare book on colour theory by pioneer tonalist Max Meldrum, most difficult to find in good condition with all its viewing cards chart, and dustjacket. An influential teacher, one of his most well known pupils was Clarice Beckett, whom he held in high regard. Loosely enclosed : the very rare original prospectus for the book and a later related bookmark.
