Deuxième édition revue et augmentée par l'avocat Jean-François Bridon après la mort du juriste dijonnais Jean Melenet (1660-1722) - plutôt que "Menelet" comme inscrit par erreur… au titre (Bibliothèque des Auteurs de Bourgogne par l'abbé Philibert Papillon, 1742, tome second page 42).Traité sur la péremption publié sous le voile de l'anonyme une première fois en 1668, qui frappe une procédure judiciaire du fait de l'écoulement d'un délai déterminé. « Commentateur et arrêtiste, sans ouvrage imprimé, Jean Melenet est cependant l'un des juristes les plus utiles à l'historien du droit bourguignon. Certainement l'un des meilleurs praticiens et des plus érudits de son temps, cet avocat compose, en effet, de nombreux ouvrages, en particulier des commentaires et des recueils d'arrêts du Parlement de Dijon. Il faut signaler surtout l'intérêt que présente sa compilation jurisprudentielle, car il est l'un des très rares arrêtistes à s'interroger sérieusement sur la valeur et la fiabilité des arrêts. (?) Il est aussi à peu près le seul juriste bourguignon à souhaiter une véritable réformation de la coutume officielle, précocement rédigée en 1459 et jamais vraiment corrigée ni complétée, malgré ses imperfections et ses nombreuses lacunes.
