XII + 157pp. Ex-library with small ink stamps to front and title (including "Afgeschreven" (withdrawn), and number label to half title, Covers otherwise good with glue residue to top corner, and interiors fine except for inked note to pXII, marginalia and underline to p3, 145, 146, lightly tanned. This is Mensing's Doctoral thesis on punishments in Islamic Hanbali Law, as applied by the Wahabbis, in the original Dutch. After this, he taught modern Arabic as a private tutor in Leiden. From 1948 until his death in 1951, he was Professor of Muslim Institutions and Arabic at Utrecht.
