Bound in publisher's pictorial boards. Featuring a colour frontispiece, twenty-one further colour plates and one monochrome plate. These are in addition to numerous monochrome vignette and full-page illustrations throughout. Collated, complete. Richly decorated by American artist Howard Pyle. Bound in original quarter cloth. Externally, smart. Moderate closed tear and lifting to head. Moderate bumping to extremities. Moderate fading to spine. Book has a backwards lean. Moderate tide mark to front cover. Moderate tide marks to rear endpapers. Moderate warping to boards. Moderate spotting to endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean, with the odd spot.
