Minor wear on corners and edges.Head of the spine is bumped. Spine has faded. Top edges gilt. Both hinges are cracked with the webbing exposed at the back, but the text block is firm. Pages are age-toned, clean and unmarked. Includes 60 illustrations engraved by John Andrew from drawings by Merrill Wheelock. The author was an influential Universalist minister during the mid 19th century who vacationed in the White Mountains of New Hamspire. This is a rare White Mountain classic.
