*Sales/posting to the USA suspended*. Hard cover dust wrapper, xii/212pp, some b&w photos and maps. Light wear to dust wrapper edges and a little wear on board edges; a very good copy. Biography of the first soldier to be awarded the Victoria Cross while serving with an Australian unit. Howse served with distinction in the Boer War and in WWI at Gallipoli. He was the architect of a massive administrative overhaul of Australia's medical services after the War, contributed significantly to the repatriation of thousands of Diggers, and served as chief of the Australian Army's medical services unitl the early 1920s when he was elected to the Federal Parliament.
