Einfach schön - die Photos von Francis Wolff (eigentlich Frank Wolff) zieren einige der wichtigsten Blue-Note-Platten der 50er und 60er Jahre (Art Blakey, Horace Silver) und sind von Komposition/Bildausschnitt sehr experimentell, aber nie überstilisiert. Die Atmosphäre bei den Aufnahmen erscheint greifbar, ästhetisch ein Genuss, natürlich überwiegend in Schwarz-Weiß. Endlich gibt es diese Bilder in einem massiven Bildband, der darüber hinaus viele gute Informationen über Künstler, Label und so weiter enthält.
