[vi]+181pp, 12pp b/w plates, b/w illustrations & maps, index, spine & part of the rear panel of the slightly edge worn dustjacket faded, otherwise a near fine copy. The book contains 26 letters sent by George Hennell [ 1785 - 1831 ] during the Peninsular War. Glover gives contextual information regarding the war, which adds to Hennell's vivid descriptions of what it was like to be a young officer during the campaign. 600 grams.
