High quality 'handmade' ceramic (believed to be bone china) bust of Thomas Edward Lawrence ('Lawrence of Arabia'); the well-modelled head and shoulders portrait is depicted full Arab head-dress and robes having a fine polychrome paint finish beneath a deep clear glaze. The underside of the black-finished circular base is marked with the item's details of production as follows: circular maker's mark. Bust: Depth 10.5 cm, Height 27 cm, Width 18 cm In very good condition. Limited edition ceramic portrait bust of T E Lawrence, a fine example of the type of retrospective 'commemorative' material inspired by Lawrence and his powerful 'legend'. No date on the piece but possibly relates to the centenary commemorations of Lawrence's birth, 1988.
