Oscar Isidore Joseph Michaux, né le 27 mars 1860 à Glimes, mort le 7 janvier 1918 à Gravelines, était un officier de la force publique. Major de cavalerie, officier de l'armée coloniale belge, il commence sa carrière en 1880. Avec Francis Dhanis, en 1889-1890, il participa à des combats contre les Batetela. Les 22 et le 23 novembre 1892, avec Dhanis qui disposait de 7 Européens, 350 soldats réguliers, et un canon Krupp de 7-5, lui-même accompagnés des troupes de Ngongo Leteta, et secondé par Duchesne, il rencontra les Arabo-Swahilis à Chige, sur la rive gauche du Lomami, à proximité de l'actuelle Tshofa. Il constitua une collection de 716 objets africains pendant sa carrière militaire au Congo (1880-1896), qui fut puis acquise le 18 avril 1919 par le Musée royal de l'Afrique centrale. Livres.
