E' tempo, mi sembra, o sarebbe tempo, che l'uomo occidentale s'accorgesse, anche senza rifarsi consapevolmente a sintassi estremorientali, della necessità di sfoltire il proprio panorama figurativo, di creare degli jati tra le cose, gli oggetti, i segni. Soltanto in questo modo sarà possibile restituire una effettiva pregnanza alle immagini stesse, e quindi nel caso della poesia visiva, tanto ai brandelli di figurazione, quanto ai brandelli di parole "trovate" o pazientemente cercate". La sua attività espositiva si sposterà poi a Massafra e a Bari dove esporrà alla galleria Centrosei. Michele Perfetti ha aderito al Gruppo di poesia visiva internazionale ed ha partecipato alle più importanti rassegne internazionali come la 36° Biennale di Venezia, la XVI Biennale di San Paolo del Brasile e la XI Quadriennale di Roma. Sue opere sono state esposte anche all'Istituto di Tella di Buenos Aires, allo Stedeijck Museum di Amsterdam, all'Istituto italiano di Tokio, allo Space Window di New York, solo per citare i più noti.
