Michener and Jack Levine on the inside of the clam shell box and on the colophon page leaf. Includes two portfolios: I. Text by James A. Michener, original lithographs and woodcuts by Jack Levine. II. Sketchbook by Jack Levine. The four original lithographs, signed in stone by the artist, were pulled on Rives Paper. The text, hand-set in Caslon de Corps 24, and the original woodcuts were printed on Arches Paper. The original "Hors-Texte" woodcut was pulled on Kawanaka Japanese Vellum paper. The fifty-four watercolors, gouaches and drawings from the sketchbook by Jack Levine were printed by Phototypie and Pochoir processes on Ingres Paper. Minor shelfwear. Clamshell Box remains housed in original white carboard boxcase. Volume is in Near Fine condition. Levine, Jack (illustrator). Signed by Author(s).

Fine in a very Near Fine dustjacket, with a single tiny nick at base of front joint; slipcase with some gentle sunning at opening, bumped at heel, with a white scuff to same. Narrative of the author's numerous visits to Spain over several decades leading up to the 1960's, illustrated throughout with photographs by Robert Vavra.
